Welcome! This blog is for AIS 230 American Indians of Minnesota. Each member of our class will be contributing to this blog as part of our class activities. Our discussion will revolve around our readings. We are using the book Indians of Minnesota with one supplementary journal reading and the use of three websites. To begin our blog each of our students will post a comment introducing themselves and letting us all know a bit more about themselves.

To get the ball rolling, I will do this myself. I am Dr. Rhonda Dass, Director of the new American Indian Studies program at MSU-Mankato where I am in my second year as an Assistant Professor. I am originally from northern Minnesota. I have four children and an old German Shepherd named Lucky who loves my husband more than me. My dream job after teaching would be sod farming.

I am really excited to work on this blog with all of my students. It is going to be a great semester.
